Lukashenka wins! But some products rise in price by 45% since year start


According to the National Statistical Committee, compared to December last year, food prices grew by 7%, non-food products – by 10.1%, services – 13.4%.

Fish and seafood rose by 23%, oil by 40.5%, tea by 25.9% and fruits by 47%.

Significantly went up in price sugar – 18.8% and cereals – 16.1%.

Oil prices dropped slightly – by 0.3% and potatoes – 0.6%. Vegetable prices fell by 29.4%.

Among non-food products price growth was recorded for bicycles and motorcycles – 22.3%, medicines – 21.8%, detergents – 18.1%, household appliances – 15.1%.

Among the services more expensive became maintenance of premises (42.9%) and water supply (34.9%). Housing services’ price rose by 23%.

Significant growth was also marked for the cost of tourist services (26.3%), personal services (10.6%), air transport services (25.6%), rail transport on international routes (19.6%).
