In spite of the lack of people’s support, unemployed Zhanna Ramanouskaya is still hanging on her presidential ambitions. She has filed documents to the Central Election Commision (CEC) for her registration as a presidential candidate.

“On September 4, 2015 documents for registering Zhanna Ramanouskaya a candidate for President of the Republic of Belarus Zhanna Nikolaevna have been submitted to the Central Commission on Elections and National Referendums,” the official website of the CEC says.

Information was not published on the same day because the contender had submitted only 780 signatures in her support, news agency Interfax reports.

“Lidziya Mikhaylauna [CEC chairwoman Lidziya Yarmoshyna] decided that this information should be published on the website because Ramanouskaya did submit the documents. In addition, her case will be on the agenda of the committee meeting on September 10,” said the CEC.

The deadline for submission of documents was September 5, 14:00. The official registration of candidates will be held on September 10.

According to preliminary data of the CEC, contenders Alyaksandr Lukashenka, Mikalai Ulakhovich, Tatsiana Karatkevich, Syarhei Haydukevich who managed to collect more than 100,000 signatures, may be nominated for presidency.

The presidential election is scheduled for October 11, 2015.
