Viktar Tsyareshchanka

PhD of Economics, entrepreneur.

Born January 30, 1950 in the village of Dubrouka of the Krasnapolye rayon, Mahiliou region in a working class family.

He started as a simple worker, later received an  all-round education in economics: the Homiel University, International Institute of Management (Kyiv) and the Delaware University – one of the oldest in the US, based on the school, finished by the three signers of the US Declaration of Independence(29th place among public universities in the ranking of Forbes). Back in 1990, he received his MBA – Master of Business Administration.

He took part in post-accident clean up of the Charnobyl disaster.

From 1992 until 2004, he headed the International Management Institute (IMI-Belarus), which was created as a joint Belarusian-German enterprise.

He was nominated as candidate in the presidential elections in 1994, but was unable to collect 100 thousand signatures. After the elections, he worked in the Presidential Administration as Chief of the Territorial Directorate for two months. At the end of the year, he founded the Belarusian People’s Party (in 1999 it was re-registered).

In the Supreme Soviet of the 13th convocation, he was member of the commission for education, science and culture. After referendum of 1996, he moved to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly.

He tried to run in the presidential election in 2001, but again did not get registered as candidate.

In the middle of 2002, he headed the office of independent non-profit international organization, “Executive Committee of the Board of the Slavic Peoples of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine”, which aimed at “The consolidation of scientific, cultural, social, creative forces that support the convergence of the Slavic peoples in the socio-economic, scientific-technical and humanitarian spheres.

He headed the Belarusian Public Association People’s Diplomacy. It is known to have entered in 2001 the Confederation For Social Change along with a dozen other subjects, among which were industrial unions and the Belarusian Social Democratic Party Narodnaya Hramada.

Member of the International Academy of Information Technology. It is a public organization, which aims to unite the efforts of scientists from different countries in the sphere of information technologies.

After the 2010 elections, he was the only candidate (except for Lukashenka), who was not detained. He has been out of work for the last five years. He heads the Council of the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (Chairman of the organization – Syarhei Balykin).

Author of more than 70 scientific and public works on the development of Belarus. According to Mr Tsyreshchanka, he is going to the polls with almost the same program, which was put forward in 2010, as 70% of the program is still relevant.

He likes to play chess, to work in the country and to travel.

He is married for the second time with his student. During the 2010 elections, the former and current wives collected signatures in his favor, both mothers-in-law joined the nominating group. He has three daughters and a granddaughter.
